- Learn what happens when someone dies in BC and the steps to be taken to resolve any issues. Things to consider might be cancelling a passport, driver’s license, and/or BC Services card, transferring car registration and insurance, cancelling bank accounts and credit cards, and discontinuing online accounts and social media.
- Explore how to register a death and receive a death certificate. It is recommended you get at least 4 original copies.
- It can be an emotional and devastating time; consider connecting with counsellors who specialize in death and dying and bereavement support through Counselling BC.
- Learn about ways to support seniors who are experiencing loss and grief from Healthlink BC.
- Read about the many aspects of bereavement including the physical and emotional impact it can have on a person from Helpguide.org.
