- Pharmacy handouts are often included with your prescribed medications when you pick them up from the pharmacy.
- Review each medication handout and make sure to discuss any questions with your pharmacist, physician or nurse practitioner.
- Be aware of how your medications might interact with each other and with over the counter drugs, supplements, vitamins, herbs, alcohol use or recreational drug use.
- Get a complete list of all your medications for the past year from your pharmacist through PharmaNet.
- You can also get a list of your medications through Health Gateway BC – be aware that this list may also include discontinued medications.
- Review your complete medication list every year with your pharmacist, physician, or nurse practitioner, including all over the counter drugs, supplements, herbs, and vitamins.
- Know that you can call Healthlink BC at 811 to talk to a pharmacist about any of your prescribed medications.
- Keep copies of your pharmacy handouts in your print copy of your Mywell Health planner in the section My Health Information for reference.
