A special parking permit from SPARC-BC is available for people with disabilities or mobility limitations. The placard allows the person or those helping with their transportation to park in designated parking spots throughout BC.

  • SPARC- BC is an independent charity in BC that manages disability parking passes. Learn about their mission and work for accessibility, inclusion, equity, and equality at the Social Planning & Research Council of BC.
  • Learn how to apply for a SPARC-BC parking permit at SPARC-BC. Know that it requires a physician or nurse practitioner assessment and signature. Print off the application and take it to your appointment for completion. Depending on your physician, the form can be completed virtually.
  • If you have qualified for a parking permit but are unable to drive – your family caregivers or care partners who drive you and assist in your transportation can use the placard.
  • Know that permits can be temporary or permanent. Temporary permits are valid for 1-12 months. Permanent permits only require you to apply once but need to be renewed every 3 years. There is a processing fee to apply for or renew a parking permit.
