Being an organ donor means that you have registered with BC Transplant, and that after your death, some of your organs may be shared to help another person.

Tips & Links

  • Visit BC Transplant to learn about what it means to be an organ donor in BC.
  • Know that your can register at any time after 19 years of age and that there is no age limit to becoming a donor.
  • To Register as an organ donor with BC Transplant, you need your name, Personal/ Provincial Health Number (PHN), date of birth, and address. You can withdraw your choice to be a donor at anytime using the online registration system.
  • Once you are registered, your name appears on the donors registry list. You can obtain a paper copy at any ICBC office.
  • Confirm or obtain a copy of your organ donor registration through your Health Gateway BC account.
  • Learn more about being an organ donor if you choose Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD).
