The Canadian Pension Plan Disability (CPP-D) benefits program provides financial assistance to individuals who have a severe and prolonged physical or mental health disability that prevents them from working regularly.

- Know that if you have been unable to work due to a mental illness or physical disability, you may be entitled to disability benefits. Before the age of 60, Canadian Pension Plan Disability Benefits are provided based on the severity and duration of the disability, while after turning 60, the benefits transition into Canadian Pension Plan retirement benefits.
- To apply for CPP create your My Service Canada Account at any age. You’ll need to provide personal information such as your Social Insurance Number (SIN), date of birth, and other identifying details to verify your identity. Once your account is created and verified, you can log into your account to view your CPP, Employment Insurance (EI), and Old Age Security (OAS) information, update your personal details, and access other online services offered by Service Canada.
