Tips & Links

  • HPV can be a concern for seniors because infections can persist for many years, and seniors may have been exposed to the virus when they were younger. These infections can reactivate, causing health issues later in life.
  • Discuss any specific health concerns and risk factors with your physician who can offer guidance for screening tests for HPV and signs of cancer.
  • Learn about how HPV vaccines help prevent cancer caused by the HPV infection at Immunize BC.
  • You can get your updated vaccination record through your Health Gateway BC account.
  • Know that the vaccine does not seem to be effective for people over 26 years of age and it is not offered to older adults.
